Adam Baldwin on Kings Highway - "Truthfully, I had initially chosen 'Kings Highway' because it's my children's favourite Petty jam. The more I listened to it, the more the message, as I interpreted it anyway, struck me. The desperation and fear amidst the will to endeavour for better is a lesson for all of us I think."

Sweet Alibi on Crawling Back To You “Tom Petty was one of the greatest musicians around. He put care and reverence into his writing. Crawling Back to You is a song we’ve all lived in at one point in our lives. Getting inside any work by Tom Petty is a swift lesson in songwriting. You're bound to come out the other side a better musician.”

The Redhill Valleys on Love Is A Long Road - "We chose to cover "Love Is A Long Road" for so many reasons. We love how connected it feels to this image of driving, and how you can really hear that in the instrumentation of the original recording. It's the perfect song to listen to in the car to get your hands tapping along on the steering wheel. It was also a bit of a departure from what we do, and what was maybe even expected from us as an Alt-Country and Roots Rock band, which made it all the more fun to embrace a pure Rock sound."

Songs from the playlist have already been featured on CBC qExclaimFYI Music NewsCashbox CanadaCBC Music "Ontario songs you need to hear"SportainmentCBC SYNTHCKCU, SiriusXM "Canada Now with Jeff Sammut" and CBC Radio One. Over the course of his career, Tom Petty sold over 80 million records worldwide and performed worldwide, including many Canadian provinces between 1976 and 2017. He is highly revered in Canada by fans and artists alike.
