What's The Story About the Good Lovelies?
Over the course of their decade-plus career, they’ve covered plenty of stylistic ground, adding tinges of pop, roots, jazz, and even hip-hop to their country folk core at various points. The trio first united in 2006 for a one-off performance and has since compiled a catalogue of four studio albums, a pair of EPs, a live album, and Christmas collection.

For their 2018 album, Shapeshifters, the band teamed up with producer Daniel Ledwell (David Myles, Jenn Grant, Fortunate Ones) to push further into the mainstream to create one of their most accessible and pop-influenced outputs to date. The album features a collection of 10 songs covering a gamut of emotions from motherhood, to the grief of losing a loved one. The album was released to rave reviews with impressive stats on iTunes including #1 Singer/Songwriter, #7 Canadian Singer/Songwriter for debut single I See Gold, and #11 Overall Canadian Album. The group, along with co-writer Robyn Dell'Unto, were presented with a #1 song award from SOCAN for reaching #1 on the CBC Radio 2 Top 20 this past January with their single I See Gold. The band has drummed up an incredible list of accolades with the new album, including coverage from the likes of CBC q, etalk, Sportainment, Winnipeg Free Press, ET Canada, Exclaim, FYI Music News, She Does The City, Canadian Musician, Spill Magazine, and Canadian Beats to name a few.

Praise for Shapeshifters:
“Let the beguiling harmonies of Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough, and Sue Passmore right into the very core of your heart.” - ET Canada

"rhythms here sway and swing like a Bahamas record (check out Take Me, Take Me or Pulse and Flatline) and the richly textured vocal treatments at times recall the work of Pierre Marchand and Sarah McLachlan.” - Winnipeg Free Press

“one of the finest blends the country has known” - The Top 100 Canadian Singles

"Shapeshifters is a brilliant album and, in a sense, the beginning of a new chapter in the musical life of the Good Lovelies.” - Spill Magazine

“Shapeshifters offers a new exploration of genres for the group and is undoubtedly an evolution in the trio’s catalogue.” - Beatroute Magazine
